Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking an Engineering Manager (CNC Machining) in South El Monte, CA. This full-time role leads large-scale machining programs and drives engineering strategy, process controls, and cross-site collaboration.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in aerospace/defense manufacturing with 5+ years in leadership, expertise in machining/CNC, and strong ERP/CAD/CAM experience (CATIA, Mastercam).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in aerospace/defense manufacturing and 5+ years in leadership.
• Experience with machining, spin forming, or related forming tech; ERP and CAD/CAM tools CATIA/Mastercam.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering strategy across CNC machining, spin forming, and bump forming operations.
• Develop robust process controls and new manufacturing methods.
• Lead CNC programming to maximize machine efficiency and adherence.
• Advance data systems for insight, integration, and productivity.
• Oversee design engineering, manufacturing and project engineering for optimization.
• Mentor personnel and manage performance.
• Coordinate staffing, cost, schedule, and technical goals.
• Align engineering with new customer opportunities and proposals.
• Drive cross-site collaboration and standardization of tooling and documentation.
