Job summary

Karman Space & Defense in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a CNC Programmer Supervisor to lead the CNC programming department, program milling and turning machines, verify toolpaths, and collaborate with Engineering, Production and Quality to ensure on-time delivery and conformance.

The ideal candidate has extensive Mastercam experience, hands-on work with Haas multi-axis CNCs, strong GD&T and AS9100 knowledge, and at least 10 years of leadership in machining; English communication is required.

Qualifications

Proficient in Mastercam programming and toolpath verification.
Experience operating Haas multi-axis CNC machines.
Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
Familiarity with AS9100 or equivalent quality systems.
Demonstrated leadership supervising machinists or programmers.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Solid understanding of shop mathematics and machining processes.

Responsibilities

Lead daily CNC programming department operations, set objectives and schedules.
Mentor and develop CNC programmers and staff, including hiring and evaluations.
Program milling/turning on Mastercam 2022+ and verify against drawings.
Interpret CAD drawings and tolerances for metal/composite parts.
Maintain and archive verified programs with traceability.
Collaborate with Engineering/Production/Quality to align schedules and resolve issues.
Diagnose and resolve machine/tooling problems and coordinate downtime.
Monitor productivity, quality and on-time delivery metrics.
Develop and implement CNC-related improvements for CUI within the dept.
