Akamai Technologies GmbH is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to guide essential teams delivering the Compute platform's integration layer and support services. You will shape strategy, drive SDLC improvements, and advance service architecture for scalable, secure cloud workloads.

You will oversee Team Leads, Engineers, and Managers, fostering ownership, collaboration, and high performance across global stakeholders. This is a strategic leadership role with a focus on reliability and impact.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of engineering leadership experience.
• Track record managing high-performing teams in cloud engineering.
• Strong architectural design in distributed systems and microservices.
• Experience driving large migrations to container orchestration.
• Proven focus on security, performance, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Drive strategic direction and roadmap for Akamai Compute APIs and backend orchestration.
• Lead architectural shift to container orchestration and modular designs for scalability.
• Establish lifecycle audit mechanisms, improve observability and security.
• Partner with PM, SRE, Eng leaders, SDET and product teams to define requirements.
• Mentor senior/principal engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
