Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Architect to design and maintain high‑reliability software for Akamai's Connected Cloud across 300k+ servers worldwide. You will work with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions and automation.

This role emphasizes architecture leadership, research on emerging trends, and collaboration with product management to align with Akamai's strategy and roadmap.

Qualifications

• 12 years experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong distributed system architecture design experience with scalable, reliable and secure solutions.
• Ability to present and support architectural and security designs to cross‑functional teams.
• Experience in software development life cycle including Unix/Linux environment.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with product management and engineering teams to describe and design solutions aligned with Akamai's strategy and roadmap.
• Presenting and supporting architectural designs and technical visions to internal cross‑functional teams
• Defining and implementing standards for systems design, development, comprehensive testing and quality assurance practices
• Designing reliable, high‑quality, usable software that meets the needs of our business for robust, scalable, and highly available systems
• Conducting research on emerging trends and technologies related to network operations and automation
