Job summary

Amazon ARI‑SciCom is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager or Principal Engineer to guide the ARI‑SciCom team in science-enabled tooling at Amazon scale.

You will lead the technical direction for a portfolio of AI-powered platforms, balancing ongoing operations with bold product development and collaborating with science leadership and conference organizers to push the frontier of academic collaboration.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment.
• Experience leading the design, build and deployment of complex and scalable software solutions in production.
• Proficiency with AI development methodologies, modern CI/CD practices, and engineering operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ARI-SciCom Engineering team and own the technical vision for a portfolio of tools.
• Balance maintenance of existing systems with ambitious product development on AI-powered tools.
• Manage a team of software engineers, set technical direction, drive roadmap prioritization, and partner with science leadership.
• Collaborate with internal conference organizers to accelerate innovation and collaboration.
• Translate ambitious AI concepts into concrete engineering plans and deliver incremental value.
