Job summary

Amazon.com LLC's ARI-SciCom Engineering team leads the software platform powering scientific publishing and collaboration across Amazon. Our tools support the full lifecycle of scientific communication and accelerate innovation for a community of researchers and collaborators.

We seek an experienced Software Development Manager or Principal Engineer to own the technical vision, manage multiple programs, and accelerate AI-powered tooling at scale, balancing reliability with bold product

Qualifications

10+ years of engineering experience.
5+ years of engineering team management experience.
Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment.
Experience leading the design, build and deployment of complex and performant software in production.
Proficiency with AI development methodologies, modern CI/CD practices, and engineering operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead the ARI-SciCom Engineering team and own the technical vision for a portfolio of tools enabling scientific discovery at Amazon scale.
Balance operational excellence on existing systems with ambitious product development on AI-powered tools; manage engineers and collaborate with science leadership and conference organizers.
Think big about how AI and automation can accelerate scientific productivity while delivering value through disciplined execution and high engineering standards.
