Uber seeks a Senior Engineering Manager (L6) to lead a multi‑team engineering org, driving high impact ML and platform initiatives. You will shape long‑term technical vision, own reliability, and partner across Product, Data Science, and Finance to deliver scalable, cost‑efficient systems globally.

You will cultivate high‑performing teams, translate strategy into roadmaps, and set metrics to measure success.

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in engineering management and 4+ years as a manager of managers.
Proven ability to set direction for an organization and align with customer needs.
Experience coaching managers on team visions and roadmaps.
Track record of driving productivity and unblocking dependencies across the org.
Strong leadership for a culture of accountability and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow an engineering organization of managers and staff-level ICs.
Define and execute a strategic roadmap aligned with business objectives.
Drive architectural decisions for large-scale distributed systems.
Partner with Product, Data Science, Design, and Finance for platform integrations.
Ensure reliability, cost-efficiency, and performance with measurable impact.
Synthesize stakeholder perspectives to unblock execution.
