Bachem Americas in Torrance, CA, seeks a Senior Manager, Engineering to lead an engineering team driving process design, development and optimization across the Americas. You will support Capex initiatives and facility expansion projects to enable growth and excellence.

The role requires deep pharma engineering expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and a track record of delivering high-impact manufacturing improvements while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's in engineering with 8+ or 10+ years in pharma.
• 12+ years engineering and project management experience.
• 5 years in a managerial position.
• Experience with HVAC, clean rooms, bioprocessing, automation, quality controls.
• Proven success in designing and managing plant expansions.
• Full project lifecycle from design to validation; FDA/cGMP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an engineering team across design, development and process optimization.
• Plan schedules, monitor progress, and ensure timely project execution.
• Drive process design, innovation and testing procedures.
• Collaborate with management, production and marketing on feasibility and cost.
• Analyze trends, workforce needs and investments for growth.
• Advance manufacturing efficiency and automation while ensuring compliance.
