Job summary

Bachem Americas, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering to lead the engineering team and drive process design, development, and optimization across the Americas.

This strategic role focuses on operational excellence, Capex initiatives, and facility expansion to support growth in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The role requires extensive experience in engineering management, project planning, and compliance with FDA/cGMP regulations.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in an engineering field with pharmaceutical industry experience required.
• 12+ years engineering and project management experience.
• 5 years of managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the engineering team across process design, development, and optimization of workflows and material flow systems.
• Provide strategic direction for technical operations including planning of personnel, equipment, and facilities.
• Develop engineering schedules, project timelines, and monitor progress to ensure on-time delivery.
• Design new manufacturing processes, improve existing systems, and establish testing procedures for quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with management, production, and marketing to assess feasibility and cost-effectiveness of solutions.
• Analyze emerging tech trends and workforce needs to inform long-term project planning and investments.
• Drive manufacturing efficiency and automation initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput.
• Develop policies and procedures aligned with industry standards and quality systems.
• Prepare and manage the engineering budget and support financial planning.
