Toyota North America seeks a Senior Engineering Manager (Software Engineering Lead) to design end-to-end architecture for financial services applications. You will guide cross-functional teams, set technical direction, and drive secure, scalable cloud-native solutions on AWS.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering and architecture.
• 3+ years in system and application design.
• Experience delivering multi-region cloud-native solutions on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design discussions across system components, including APIs, databases, caching, messaging, resilience, and observability.
• Partner with product leaders and cross-functional teams to define end-to-end architecture for applications across the financial services portfolio.
• Evaluate technical trade-offs and drive decisions toward scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions.
• Identify and introduce new software patterns, tools, and frameworks through proof-of-concepts, and help teams adopt them.
• Lead engineering strategy for AWS-based solutions and stay current with cloud technologies.
• Define strategies for cloud-based data lake and processing frameworks supporting real-time processing and reporting.
• Architect cloud-native applications using AWS services and modern engineering practices.
• Embed security, compliance, and DevSecOps principles from design to deployment.
• Create and maintain technical diagrams and reusable standards for consistency.
• Provide technical mentorship and grow engineering talent with regular feedback.
• Build high-performing teams by setting goals and fostering inclusion and collaboration.
