Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Tampa is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering within the Sanctions Technology team to guide multiple software groups and influence architecture decisions at scale.

You will lead the modernization of enterprise platforms across cloud and hybrid deployments, prioritize secure design, and oversee AI‑assisted development practices in a regulated setting.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 5+ years applied experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
• Experience leading multi‑team adoption of enterprise‑authorized AI‑assisted development and delivery tools with governance/ways of working (human‑in‑the‑loop validation, quality gates).
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, resiliency/security implications, and control expectations.
• Hands‑on experience in Java‑based platforms and Spring Boot, React, Python in production at scale.
• Proficiency in UNIX, Apache Tomcat, Web Services, and SQL; knowledge of JavaScript framework is must.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry‑level to mid‑level software engineers.
• Provide architectural oversight for Java‑based enterprise platforms with a focus on performance, reliability, security and operability.
• Lead modernization across legacy, cloud, and hybrid environments; enforce secure design and compliance guardrails.
• Set operating practices for enterprise‑authorized AI‑assisted engineering and SDLC/TLM automation across multiple teams.
• Apply knowledge of SDLC tools to drive efficiency and capacity unlock initiatives across teams.
• Provide direction, oversight, and coaching for engineers; grow talent and raise engineering standards.
• Ensure collaboration across product, engineering, operations, and risk on priorities and outcomes.
• Lead incident response and root‑cause analysis; drive corrective actions to improve stability.
• Provide input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies.
