Job summary

Hera Technologies is a premier contract manufacturer in the Aerospace, Defense, and Space sectors. The Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Engineer will lead the design, development and manufacture of components for thermal protection systems, working hands-on with TPS materials and surfaces.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams ensures manufacturability, performance, and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of mechanical design and manufacturing experience, especially with metallics, composites, and TPS
• Leadership in engineering projects from design to production
• Hands-on experience with advanced materials for aerospace/defense
• Understanding of elastomer and composite manufacturing and testing standards
• Proficient in CAD with production-ready drawings

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and manufacturing of mechanical components and assemblies for TPS
• Collaborate to develop scalable manufacturing and assembly processes
• Create and maintain process documentation to optimize throughput
• Prototype and test advanced materials including carbon fiber composites
• Investigate failures and drive corrective actions in development and production
• Ensure compliance with aerospace and defense standards
