Job summary

University of Colorado Boulder is seeking a Senior Instructional Lab Engineer to lead hands-on learning initiatives in the Integrated Teaching and Learning Program (ITLP) within the College of Engineering and Applied Science. You will support students and faculty with DAQ, instrumentation, and electromechanical systems across multiple engineering fields.

The role involves designing and teaching hands-on workshops with industry-standard tools and mentoring students and staff in lab environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
Three years of experience in data acquisition, instrumentation, or technical instruction.
Education and experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Leads implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of DAQ hardware/software in the ITLL.
Develops hands-on workshops on DAQ hardware and microcontrollers.
Provides technical mentorship to students in coursework and projects.
Guides experiment design with sensor integration and test fixtures.
Programs LabVIEW VIs and Arduino code as needed.
Trains ITLP staff and students for workshops offered evenings/weekends.
Creates inclusive learning environments for diverse learners.
Researches new equipment and methods to expand hands-on learning opportunities.
