Job Description and Duties

In accordance with CCR 249.3, this job may be used to fill subsequent vacancies. The position is subject to the Department of Conservation’s Conflict of Interest code. Candidates may be precluded if they or their spouses hold interests in oil, gas, or geothermal entities.

Under the direction of the Environmental, Facilities, and Field Operations Manager, the Senior Engineering Geologist (Supervisor) will oversee training and mentoring of engineering geologists, engineers, and associates in the California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) Southern District office. Responsibilities include supervising field training, professional development, and ensuring safe practices in oil, gas, and geothermal operations, including incident investigations.
