Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. in Maryland is seeking a Sr. Engineering Designer - Diver to join our team. You will conduct underwater inspections of bridges, barges, piers, and other marine structures, and contribute to plan development from concept to construction.

The role requires ADCI surface‑provided air diving knowledge, PE eligibility preferred, and travel up to 35% with a valid driver’s license. ABET‑accredited engineering degree and proficiency in MicroStation/AutoCAD/Revit are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑Accredited Program.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• ADCI certification is required.

Duties, Responsibilities & Other

KCI is hiring a Sr. Engineering Designer - Diver to join our team in Maryland!

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct underwater inspections of various structures, including bridges, barges, piers, wharves, marinas, ports, bulkheads, and seawalls.
• Perform condition inspections and quality control inspections for construction projects.
• Engage in structural design and analysis of marine structures.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and oversee the plan development process from concept through final construction plans for new structures, rehabilitations, and repairs.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Comprehensive understanding of all facets of commercial diving and ADCI requirements for surface‑supplied air diving.
• Proficiency in structural engineering, design, analysis, and bridge condition inspection is highly desirable.
• Experience with bridge, waterfront, and/or dam projects is preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

• Proven project management experience with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Certification by the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) is required.
• National Highway Institute (NHI) Bridge Inspection certification is a plus.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Travel up to 35% of the time is a requirement of this position.
• TWIC card is preferred.
• Boating Safety Certificate is preferred.
