Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Courtland, AL, is seeking an Engineering Aide Spec to join the Production Operations team. You will support Thermal Protection System application, electro/mech structure assembly, integration and test (AI&T) operations, interpreting drawings and preparing work instructions for technicians.

The role requires interim Secret clearance and the ability to obtain Secret clearance, with a 4x10 work schedule (Mon-Thurs, 6:00AM-4:30PM). Travel to other operations may be required.

Qualifications

• Interim Secret clearance required prior to start with ability to obtain Secret clearance.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and/or define the manufacturing steps to meet all requirements.
• Ability to decipher and follow various engineering specifications.
• Ability to comprehend and follow work instructions.
• General computer skills (i.e. MS Office Suite).

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineer drawings and create work instructions for technicians to support product build.
• Support shop floor technicians in fast passed and dynamic processing environment.
• Resolve work stoppages through equipment support, continuous improvement initiatives, defect disposition, and root cause analysis.
• Create and manage relationships with a multi disciplined team.
• Conceptualize assembly using strong mechanical aptitudes, understanding of material properties, heat transfer, and structural properties.
• Lead the technical team daily to meet engineering requirements, schedule and cost commitments, and provide production status to leadership.
