Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 5 years of professional experience
• Completion of UGA’s Academic Advising Certificate Program preferred
• Experience working with advising software utilized by UGA/USG institutions (SAGE, DegreeWorks, Athena)

Responsibilities

• Leads advising sessions by engaging students holistically and inviting their participation
• Develops strategies to enhance rapport with students and campus partners
• Explains degree requirements, policies and uses student-facing technologies (Degree Works, SAGE, Athena)
• Responds to student needs with targeted support for decision-making, exploration and development
• Collaborates with students to integrate degree progress, interests, and abilities into planning
• Maintains accurate records and uses data to inform advising practice
