Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer seeks a senior water engineer for our Dallas/Fort Worth office. You will work on water, wastewater, and stormwater projects, from planning through construction, and lead project teams.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years’ experience, strong leadership, and mastery of GIS/CAD tools. Bachelor's in engineering is required; a Master’s or PhD is a plus. This role emphasizes client development and staff supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in planning, design, or construction of water-related projects.
• Advanced knowledge of project management and MS Office.
• Experience with GIS, CAD/BIM, PowerBI, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Participation in evaluation, planning, and design of water, wastewater, stormwater, reuse, and infrastructure projects.
• Contribute to a project team from study through construction of major water-related infrastructure.
• Fieldwork and site visits may be required.
• Project management of large or multiple projects.

Job Description Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a water engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join our Dallas or Fort Worth office. Candidate to be involved with a wide range of water infrastructure projects, which can include treatment process design and construction, distribution systems, wastewater conveyance, including pumping and pipelines. In addition to the technical requirements, the position requires experience with project management or the desire to grow into a project management role. Founded in 1951 by the son of Allen Hazen (developer of the Hazen-Williams equation), we are an employee-owned company with a singular focus on "all things water."

Our work includes planning, design, and oversight of construction of environmental infrastructure – for water, wastewater, and stormwater management.

• Participation in the evaluation, planning, and design of water, wastewater, stormwater, reuse, and infrastructure projects
• Participation in a project team from the initial study and conceptual design stages through to the construction of major water related infrastructure projects

• A minimum of 10 years of experiencein planning, design, or construction of water-related projects
• Experience related to preparing conceptual/feasibility studies, development of construction drawings and specifications, bidding assistance, and support of office and field-related construction services
• Familiarity with engineering and construction management software
• Capable of supervising staff and managing projects
• Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in environmental, civil or mechanical engineering
• Proficiency in GIS, CAD/BIM, BioWin, PowerBI, and databases
