Job summary

Venture Global LNG in Houston seeks a Senior Supplier Development Engineer to own the total quality lifecycle for suppliers, from pre‑onboarding to post‑delivery, ensuring zero supplier escapes and COPQ reduction. You will partner with suppliers, perform process assessments and audits, and define quality plans with Engineering.

Responsibilities include MR reviews, Go/No‑Go readiness, NCMs and corrective actions, pre‑inspection meetings, and leading small inspection teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality / procurement.
  • Experience with auditing, RCA (A3, 8D) and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of Oil & Gas / LNG industry standards (ISO, API Q2).
  • Internal or lead auditor certification preferred.
  • ASQ CQE, Green Belt, or Black Belt a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience leading small teams of third‑party inspection resources.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Projects, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel to VG and supplier facilities.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC Card.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with suppliers to ensure right‑first‑time deliveries (zero escapes).
  • Perform supplier surveillance and process assessments and/or audits to evaluate capability against VG Quality requirements.
  • Lead Quality for Procurement Status Report activities.
  • Engage and support MR and technical specification reviews.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to define Quality Plans.
  • Support deployed inspection resources and act on inspection results.
  • Lead pre‑inspection meetings at key supplier locations.
  • Manage and issue inspection releases as needed.
  • Ensure Go/No‑Go readiness for key packages before sail‑away.
  • Conduct minimum FAI/delta FAI qualifications prior to initial supplier deliveries.
  • Support supplier Kick-off Meetings to validate ITPs/process controls.
  • Interface with procurement, VGOS, sites to address supplier escapes.
  • Generate and manage Supplier Non‑conformance reports and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to Supplier Zero Defect Program (ZDP) reporting and COPQ tracking.
  • Develop a data‑based ZDP improvement plan for key suppliers.
  • Promote VG Quality culture with suppliers.

Summary

The Senior Supplier Development Engineer is responsible for the total quality lifecycle management (pre and post onboarding) for all suppliers within scope. This role reports directly to the Senior Manager, Supplier Quality and ensures supplier compliance through targeted process control and risk mitigation methods such as audits, assessments, FAI qualifications, risk assessments, Supplier Zero Defect Plan. The Senior Supplier Development Engineer is an essential safeguard of procured products and services working closely with VG suppliers, Supply Chain, site Project and Operations Quality teams, Supplier Quality Engineering, Venture Global Operational Support (VGOS) Inventory locations, Engineering, and the VG CI / RCA team to address Top Issues (high impact supplier escapes) and enabling delivery of Zero Supplier escapes and associated COPQ and schedule impacts.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities
  • Partner directly with suppliers to ensure right first‑time deliveries (zero escapes)
  • Perform supplier surveillance and process assessments and / or audits to evaluate supplier’s capability to meet VG Quality requirements
  • Lead Quality for applicable Procurement Status Report (PSR) activities
  • Engage and support applicable Material Requisition (MR) and technical specification reviews
  • Coordinate with Engineering to assign MR Quality Levels, define Quality Plans
  • Support deployed inspection resources, take actions based on inspection results
  • Lead and conduct pre‑inspection meetings at key supplier locations
  • Manage and issue inspection releases as needed
  • Ensure key / critical packages are Go‑no‑go ready before sail‑away
  • Conduct minimum FAI / delta FAI qualifications prior to initial supplier deliveries
  • Support supplier Kick off Meetings to validate ITPs / process controls in place
  • Interface directly with procurement, materials management / VGOS, VG sites, etc. to address potential supplier escapes (in transit, receiving, installation, etc.)
  • Generate and manage Supplier Non‑conformance reports and Corrective action request to ensure timely issue resolution and recurrence prevention, respectively
  • As part of the Supplier Zero Defect Program (ZDP) report and track all supplier escapes, audit findings, and associated COPQ
  • Develop a data‑based ZDP improvement plan for key and critical suppliers
  • Promote the VG Quality culture with suppliers
Qualifications

Required experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality / procurement
  • Experience with auditing, RCA (A3, 8D) and risk assessment methodologies
  • Thorough understanding of the Oil and Gas / LNG liquefaction business, industry codes, standards, regulatory bodies, industry standards (ie ISO, API Q2), etc.
  • Internal or lead auditor certified
  • ASQ CQE, Greenbelt, or Black Belt certification a plus
  • Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience supporting / leading small teams of third‑party inspection resources
  • Experience with Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, Projects, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel as needed to VG and supplier facilities
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC Card
