TechnipFMC plc in Houston seeks a seasoned mechanical engineer to design subsea choke and valve products, perform analyses, and drive new product development. You will work with Technical Authorities and cross-functional teams to ensure quality and compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

The role requires 5–10 years of choke experience, strong fundamentals in machine design and metallurgy, and familiarity with ASME/API codes and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with 5–10 years of choke experience.
• Strong knowledge of machine design, fluid mechanics, vibration, strength of materials, and metallurgy.
• Familiar with ASME codes, API codes and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with engineering product databases and ERP systems.
• Good problem-solving and communication with suppliers and customers.
• Capable of independent work and team collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Execute engineering activities in line with company standards, project schedules, HSE requirements and design practices.
• Design subsea choke and valve products using engineering principles and industry standards.
• Collaborate with Technical Authorities and cross-functional teams on new product development and improvement initiatives.
• Perform calculations, tolerance analyses, design reviews and technical assessments using Mathcad and other tools.
• Define qualification strategies, test plans and validation programs to verify performance and compliance.
• Create 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and specifications per configuration management.
• Support manufacturing, testing, assembly and supplier activities to drive performance improvements.
• Lead engineering change activities including risk assessment and implementation.
• Present technical solutions and design decisions during reviews and forums.
• Provide technical guidance to stakeholders across functions.
• Drive continuous improvement through RCA, lessons learned, and Lean practices.
• Independently execute assignments and contribute to larger projects.
• Collaborate with global teams to deliver high-quality solutions meeting schedule, cost, and customer needs.
