Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Lenexa, KS, is seeking a Senior Engineer for Reliability Engineering to develop and coordinate reliability studies, evaluate designs and DOE constructs, and guide test methods to ensure product reliability.

The role includes RCCA leadership, data-driven analysis of field and warranty data, and development of reliability tools and dashboards to support decisions. On-site work in Lenexa with potential travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related field with 5+ years in reliability roles in aerospace or highly regulated hardware industries.
  • Alternatively, master’s degree with 3+ years in similar roles in aerospace.
  • 3+ years leading RCCA (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree)
  • 3+ years analyzing field, factory, and warranty data to drive reliability improvements.
  • 3+ years developing or automating reliability calculation tools, dashboards, or data-driven analytics.

  • Recommend design or test methods and SPC procedures to achieve required product reliability.
  • Compile and analyze performance reports, process control statistics, and relevant variables affecting product and process.

Job description

B/E Aerospace, Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer, Reliability Engineering in Lenexa, KS.

Occasional national and international travel may be required (1–2 times per year) to support product field reliability activities and root cause identification.

What YOU will do

Develop, coordinate and conduct technical reliability studies and evaluate engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs. Recommend design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. Compile and analyze performance reports, process control statistics, and relevant variables potentially affecting product and process. Includes possible development of mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks. May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing.

Qualifications
  • Must possess at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience as a Reliability Engineer, Design Engineer, Test Engineer, Product Engineer or related role within aerospace or other highly regulated hardware industries.
  • In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field and at least 3 years of experience as a Reliability Engineer, Design Engineer, Test Engineer, Product Engineer or related role within aerospace or other highly regulated hardware industries would be acceptable.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience leading Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) using structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree).
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience analyzing field, factory, and warranty data to drive reliability improvements.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience developing or automating reliability calculation tools, dashboards, or data-driven analytics to support predictions, trade studies, and decision-making.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience applying airworthiness and certification requirements applicable to aircraft interior or electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Non‑US Person - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

The salary range is $114,358.00 to $165,200.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
