Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks engineers to perform analysis, testing and design of components and assemblies. You will generate mechanical drawings, conduct 3D CAD packaging designs with thermal analysis, and support production with cross-functional collaboration across CM, software, systems engineering and supply chain.

The role requires a STEM degree with 2+ years of experience, strong communication, and U.S. citizenship for access to program information.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2+ years of relevant experience (or advanced degree).
• Experience producing technical documentation: configuration control, change management, trade studies, design artifacts and presentations.
• Proficient in 3D modeling/drawing creation in Creo, with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience collaborating in a multi-functional environment (field engineering, supply chain, suppliers, customers).
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• U.S. citizenship required for access to program/contract information.

What You Will Do

• Perform analysis, qualification and acceptance testing on components, assemblies, mechanical fixtures and/or structures.
• Perform mechanical preliminary and detailed design activities, ensuring the technical integrity of products meeting all program requirements.
• Hold design reviews and resolve action items.
• Generate mechanical drawings, including supporting drawing releases and change incorporation.
• Demonstrate your creativity in electronics packaging design using 3D CAD modeling and thermal analysis, ensuring robust and efficient solutions.
• Conduct testing/COTS evaluation activities in the lab in support of Engineering Change Proposals.
• Support production activities, including potential travel up to 10% to suppliers to the Merrimack, NH Manufacturing facility, ensuring smooth processes and high quality outcomes.
• Interface with other disciplines (Configuration Management, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain) in support of product development.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Experience completing technical documentation relating to Configuration Control, Change Management, Trade Studies, Preliminary and Detailed Design artifacts and presentations.
• Proficient in 3D modeling and drawing creation in Creo, including GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Prior experience collaborating in a multi-functional environment (ex: field engineering, supply chain, suppliers, customers).
• Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. May be eligible for relocation.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
