Job summary

Hussmann Corporation, a leader in commercial refrigeration equipment, is seeking a Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Bridgeton, MO. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design refrigeration display cases, drive manufacturability, and release products on time and to specification.

Responsibilities include conceptual design with lead engineers, BOM and PLM data accuracy, design validation through prototypes and first article inspections, and ongoing improvement of

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product design and evaluation experience for refrigerated products.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer, or equivalent.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• SolidEdge 3D CAD experience preferred.
• Ability to review CFD and FEA simulations and translate results into design improvements.
• Excellent communication skills, oral & written.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Lead Engineers on conceptual design and development of refrigerated display cases.
• Design for Manufacturing using sheet metal, copper tubing, electrical assemblies, welded frames, sub-assemblies and system assemblies.
• Plan and coordinate product releases within the PLM system.
• Support improvements in innovation, quality, function, and cost of the product.
• Initiate studies of new and existing designs to incorporate cost-effective technology.
• Validate new designs through prototypes and first-article inspections.
