Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, is seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance professional to join the Power and Controls team on Pratt & Whitney Engine Systems programs. The role involves interfacing with global supply chains and executives to communicate ongoing work and initiatives from Windsor Locks, CT, on-site 2–3 days/week with remote work 2 days/week.

The candidate will lead QA processes, influence standards, and manage multiple QA projects with a significant impact.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer requirements and communicate key points to the supply chain for military and commercial programs.
  • Analyze and develop QA plans, guidelines, policies, and processes to meet quality targets.
  • Implement projects to continuously improve overall quality.
  • Provide production process analysis to ensure standards are met and identify improvements.
  • Collect and analyze quality information to develop quality strategies and programs.
  • Review quality improvement processes to reduce COPQ and escapes.
  • Develop and implement program quality plans for new programs and restarts.

This position is for a Seasoned Quality Assurance professional to join the Power and Controls team at Collins Aerospace working Pratt and Whitney Engine Systems programs. This job will entail working with the global supply chain to ensure quality levels are upheld as well as working with executives and customers to communicate on‑going work and initiatives. The candidate shall be able to work as an individual contributor to achieve objectives that have a significant impact on area of responsibility as well as manage several Quality Assurance processes and/or projects concurrently. The candidate shall be able to use experience and knowledge to influence processes, standards, and plans to continuously improve quality.

This role is hybrid, with the primary work location at the Collins Aerospace site in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, where you will be on‑site 2–3 days per week and work remotely 2 days per week. The role also requires occasional travel to the Pratt & Whitney Engine Center in Middletown, Connecticut, approximately 1–2 times per month.

What You Will Do:
  • Understand customer requirements and expectations and be able to communicate those key points to the supply chain. Programs include both military and commercial applications.
  • Understand objectives and procedures for initial development projects (APQP) as well as implement corporate level quality initiatives and procedures (UPPAP and ZDP).
  • Analyzes and makes recommendations for Quality Assurance plans, guidelines, policies, and processes to ensure the achievement of Quality targets.
  • Implements projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving.
  • Provides production process analysis, ensuring quality standards are met and making recommendations for quality improvements.
  • Conducts collection and analysis of quality information from multiple sources for the development of quality strategy and programs.
  • Reviews quality improvement processes to ensure on‑going reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes.
  • Develops and implements program quality plans and procedures for new programs as well as program restarts.
Qualifications - You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Access)
  • Experience with SAP
Qualifications - We Prefer:
  • Experience working with Pratt QMS
  • Potential travel 10 – 20%
  • Experience with UPPAP, APQP and ZDP
  • Experience communicating to all levels of an organization (executive to technician)
  • Background in mechanical and/or electrical design
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or operations environment
  • Experience with CORE or another continuous improvement program
  • Certified CORE Apprentice
  • Experience with MRB (Materials Review Board) is a plus, but not required

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
