Job summary

Infineon Technologies is seeking a process engineer in Leominster, MA to provide sustaining manufacturing support, optimize electro-mechanical processes, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires hands-on engineering, strong troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration across supplier quality and purchasing teams.

The ideal candidate has a BS in engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, with proficiency in DFM, DOE, 8D, and FMEA.

Qualifications

  • BS in engineering (mechanical/chemical/materials/manufacturing).
  • 5+ years as a process engineer in a regulated, fast-paced industry (semiconductors preferred).
  • Wirebond experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong troubleshooting; drive issues to closure quickly.
  • Skilled in process optimization and continuous improvement tools (DFM/DOE/8D/FMEA).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high-profile presence in manufacturing to provide sustaining support and resolve day-to-day issues.
  • Apply manufacturing best practices to improve reliability and predictability of processes.
  • Be a hands-on engineer optimizing complex electro-mechanical equipment processes.
  • Lead teams and drive projects through Lean or Six Sigma with hands-on application.
  • Identify project risks related to backend processes and materials; take independent initiative.
  • Define long-term process-technology roadmaps for new generations of products.

Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

  • Maintain a high-profile presence in the manufacturing area to provide sustaining manufacturing support. Resolves day to day production issues. Drives issues to root cause.
  • Apply manufacturing best practices to drive reliability and predictability into our processes.
  • Be a hands-on engineer focusing on optimizing processes involving complex electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Routinely works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in&ndashdepth evaluation of factors. Resolve various assembly and mechanical screening process issues through the use of structured problem solving techniques like 8D and related tools
  • Lead teams and implement projects through continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean or Six Sigma with hands&ndashon application – be an engaging floor practitioner.
  • Identify and address project risks related to backend processes and materials.
  • Take the initiative to look for and take advantage of opportunities. Take independent actions and calculated risks.
  • Define the long-term process technology development roadmaps needed for new and next generation products
  • Support supplier quality, purchasing and other groups to identify and work with material vendors impacting assembly and mechanical screening processes.
Your Profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

  • Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) degree in engineering, such as mechanical, chemical, materials, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years as a process engineer in a highly regulated, fast paced industry. ie Semiconductors, Life Science, Pharmaceutical, etc.
  • Wirebond experience but not required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills. Ability to drive issues to closure quickly and effectively.
  • Skilled in tools for process optimization and continuous improvement such as DFM reviews, DOE, 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, OCAP, and statistical analysis methods/tools.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills. Effective in defining schedules and project completion.
  • Effective team leader and member, ability to collaborate with other teams and IR-Hi-Rel/Infineon sites for best practice, resource and knowledge sharing, and lead as expert mentoring technicians and new engineers
  • Self-starter, fast-learner with experience working in fast-pace and dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Emphasizes personal and professional growth. Keeps technical and business knowledge and skills current
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills

The Wage range that the company expects to pay for a qualified candidate in the United States is:

Leominster, MA Minimum of $94,700 salary per year / Maximum of $104,200 salary per year

In addition, all employees will be eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
