Job summary

Infineon Technologies Morgan Hill, CA is seeking a Sr Expert Operator Semi Assembly to join the Manufacturing and Operations team. You will operate and maintain automated assembly equipment, perform micro-assembly tasks, and document results in MES and Excel.

You will read blueprints and WI, guide junior staff, and help ensure quality with Lean/Six Sigma principles. This full-time role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, with nights shifting 10:30pm–7:00am

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of direct experience in a semiconductor manufacturing or high-tech assembly environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of assembly machinery (e.g., wire bonders, die attach machines), cleanroom protocols (ISO Class 1-8), and ESD prevention.
  • Leadership ability to guide, train, and mentor new team members, apprentices, or trainees.
  • Analytical skills to debug and troubleshoot failed electronic components, assemblies, and systems using test equipment and schematics.
  • Quality focus with high attention to detail; able to perform visual inspections under microscopes; Lean/Six Sigma familiarity.
  • Autonomy to work with moderate supervision and manage own workflow to meet production targets.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.

Key responsibilities in your new role
  • Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating and maintaining automated assembly equipment, pick-and-place machines, or wafer processing tools
  • Assembly Techniques: Experience with micro-assembly, die bonding, wire bonding, and encapsulation
  • Documentation: Ability to compile and maintain production logs, test results, and reports using Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or software like Excel
  • Technical Reading: Proficient in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and Work Instructions (WI)

Employment in this position is subject to successfully obtaining NCIC (National Crime Information Center) background clearance and Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) authorization

  • Technical Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of assembly machinery (e.g., wire bonders, die attach machines), cleanroom protocols (ISO Class 1-8), and electrostatic discharge (ESD) prevention
  • Leadership Ability: Capable of guiding, training, and mentoring new team members, apprentices, or trainees
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to debug and troubleshoot failed electronic components, assemblies, and systems using test equipment and schematics
  • Quality Focused: High attention to detail, capable of performing visual inspections under microscopes, and familiar with Lean/Six Sigma principles
  • Autonomy: Comfortable working with a moderate degree of supervision, often managing their own workflow to meet production targets
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the workday
Shifts

10:30pm–7:00am Friday – Tuesday – This shift is eligible for a 15% shift differential

Salary pay information

Location Indicative salary range Morgan Hill CA , United States Wage range that the company expects to pay for a qualified candidate: US$ 57,200 – US$ 78,800 In addition, all employees will be eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
