Senior Engineer / Principal Engineer, CPIE RAM Detection Strategy (Req ID: JR86240)

As a RAM Detection (RDA and Metrology) Detection Strategy Senior Engineer / Principal Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will collaborate with process, equipment, and process integration teams to start up, develop, and optimize detection methods that improve product yield, quality, and cost. You will work closely with NAND and DRAM sites, HVM and TD, and suppliers to achieve inline visibility and control for detection enablement and improvement, set up BKM (Best Known Method) related to RAM Detection performance, cost, and supplier engagement, and ensure BKM alignment and deployment across sites.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Detection SWAT (System Workforce Allocation Team) to identify BKM and strategies to meet detection goals
  • Lead the RAM network in BKM standardization across all sites
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to measure success and performance of the team
  • Lead a team of engineers, identify opportunities and risks, and resolve roadblocks
  • Devise strategy, plans, and roadmap for the team for short‑term and long‑term objectives
  • Allocate resources within the team to accomplish goals and prioritize assignments
  • Maintain working relationships with partners from HVM, TD, and external suppliers
  • Enhance detection capability and strategy to enable yield improvement, strengthen the defense line, and improve learning cycles
  • Establish and improve BKM related to RAM detection performance, cost, and supplier engagement; ensure sharing across all sites
  • Plan and evaluate suppliers through demos, tool evaluations, and head‑to‑head (H2H) reviews; promote new equipment/material through TOR processes
  • Prioritize resources internally and externally to close gaps
  • Lead the Copy Smart Team (CST) and hold teams accountable for timelines and commitments; support cross‑site alignment activities
  • Set business processes to manage responsibilities and enforce program standards
  • Provide guidance to improve and optimize programs and processes for respective owners
  • Manage global business for the RAM area, including TOR, MOR, MTEP, DOC2, ERM, SCM documentation, etc.
  • Keep Acceptance Documentation and Configuration Specs (ADCS) updated to current TOR configuration in your area of responsibility
  • Execute projects with proper project management processes and metrics to supervise success
  • Develop strategies that benefit the entire Micron network
  • Identify and share BKM across sites; track compliance to alignment
  • Be responsible for fab performance metrics for benchmarking; identify gaps and improvement areas
  • Partner with Technology Development and Global Procurement to drive supplier competitiveness in RDA and Metrology, reducing CapEx and OpEx
  • Provide tactical support and coordination for fabs on people, safety, time to maturity, yield, quality, cost, and cycle time issues
  • Engage and drive suppliers on tool roadmap, technology sharing, and other projects
Qualifications
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in RDA and/or Metrology
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally for up to 6 months as needed

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with sites, multifunctional teams, and suppliers
  • Effective communication skills; maintain strong, open relationships with peers and other functional areas such as Process Integration Engineering, Quality Systems, Production Operations Management, and Purchasing
