Job description

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

As an RDA and Metrology Detection Strategy Senior Engineer/Principal Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will collaborate with process, equipment, and process integration teams to start up, develop, and optimize detection to improve product yield, quality, and cost. Responsibilities include working closely with NAND and DRAM sites, HVM and TD, and suppliers to achieve inline visibility and control for detection enablement and improvement. This position is responsible for setting up Best Known Methods (BKM) related to RAM detection performance, cost, and supplier engagement, ensuring BKM alignment and deployment, and standardizing RAM across sites.

What’s Encouraged Daily
  • Lead the Detection SWAT (System Workforce Allocation Team) in identifying BKM and strategies to meet detection goals.
  • Lead the RAM network in BKM standardization across all sites.
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to measure success and team performance.
  • Lead a team of engineers in projects, identifying opportunities and risks, and finding solutions to clear roadblocks.
  • Devise strategy, plans, and roadmap for the team for short and long term.
  • Apply organizational skill in job assignment and task allocation.
  • Prioritize resources within the team to accomplish goals.
  • Maintain good working relationships with partners from multifunctional areas in HVM, TD, and externally.
  • Enhance detection capability and strategy to enable yield improvement, improve cycle of learning, and strengthen defense line.
  • Establish and improve BKM related to RAM detection performance, cost, and supplier engagement.
  • Ensure BKM sharing spans across all sites regardless of technology and/or site mission differences.
  • Plan and evaluate through supplier demos, tool evaluations, or head‑to‑head (H2H) and promote new equipment/material through the Tool Of Record (TOR) process.
  • Prioritize resources internally across the network or with suppliers to close gaps.
  • Lead the Copy Smart Team (CST) and hold the team accountable to deliver on timelines and commitments; support cross‑site alignment activities through CST and provide strategic direction.
  • Set business process to manage your area(s) of responsibility to meet program expectations and enforce required standards.
  • Actively provide guidance to improve and optimize programs and processes for respective owners.
  • Be part of the team to manage global business for the RAM area, including TOR, MOR, MTEP, DOC2, ERM, SCM, and related documentation.
  • Keep Acceptance Documentation and Configuration Specs (ADCS) updated to current TOR configuration.
  • Manage projects with proper project management processes and metrics to supervise project success.
  • Initiate, develop, drive, and support strategies that benefit not only one site but the Micron network as a whole.
  • Identify and share BKM across sites and track compliance with agreed alignment.
  • Be responsible for fab performance metrics for benchmarking; identify gaps and improvement areas.
  • Partner with Technology Development and Global Procurement to drive suppliers' competitiveness in RDA and Metrology to reduce CapEx and OpEx.
  • Provide tactical support and coordination for fabs as required for issues of people, safety, time to mature, yield, quality, cost, and cycle time.
  • Engage and drive suppliers on the tool roadmap (MRM), technology sharing, and other projects.
How To Qualify
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s in Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in RDA and/or Metrology.
  • Willingness and capability for international travel, including extended international assignments up to 6 months as needed.
  • Adequate skills in project and program management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with sites, multifunctional teams, and suppliers.
  • Excellent communication skills, maintaining open relationships with peers and appropriate team members in process integration engineering, quality systems, production operations management, and purchasing.
