Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) is seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer in Indiana to support reliability analyses and planning across the energy grid. You will build near-term models, run stability studies, and contribute to operating guidelines and outage coordination.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and experience in ISO/RTO environments, with proficiency in EMS/PSSE/TARA, Python/SQL/VBA, and knowledge of NERC/FERC compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in an ISO/RTO, utility, transmission owner, or balancing authority environment.
• Proficiency with power system analysis tools such as EMS, PSSE, TARA, or similar.
• Knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards, operating procedures, and outage coordination processes.
• Experience developing operating plans, reliability assessments, and collaborating across teams.
• Technical skills including steady-state simulation, transient stability (preferred), Python/SQL/VBA scripting, and understanding of NERC/FERC compliance requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is: $127,000‑152,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.
