Job summary

DLR Group seeks a Senior Engineer focused on Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural disciplines for the K-12 sector in Texas. The role leads multidisciplinary teams to develop high-quality construction documents while aligning with budgets and schedules.

You will collaborate with sector leadership on business development, client relationships, and design excellence. A PE license and 10+ years in engineering are required, with strong communication and leadership skills central to success.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• 10+ years of engineering experience including K-12 education sector
• Knowledge of design and construction processes and cross-disciplinary communication
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of business management and client relationship building
• Knowledge of local building and energy codes
• Demonstrated record of consistent quality work
• Ability to lead others and foster teamwork
• Knowledge of DLR Group’s climate action commitments (AIA2030, ME2040, SE2050)

Responsibilities

• Lead design on significant projects and mentor engineers
• Collaborate with architects and other engineers within an integrated design process
• Manage project execution to meet budget, schedule, and scope with client satisfaction
• Track milestones, provide status updates and ensure quality controls
• Facilitate and document meetings with staff, clients, vendors
• Lead business development by contributing to RFPs and client interviews
• Represent DLR Group in meetings with owners, clients and suppliers
• Provide technical reviews of interdisciplinary teams prior to issuance
• Contribute to revenue growth and broader practice scale
• Engage early with sector leaders to set growth directions
