Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an Enterprise MBD and DFx Engineer to implement and scale model-based definition capabilities across the enterprise. You will develop processes, standards, and workflows to capture engineering intent in Creo and manage through Windchill, collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Inspection, and Supply Chain.

The role emphasizes embedding manufacturability and producibility principles into design, with hands-on engineering and potential for AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering, or an equivalent technical field
• 8+ years of relevant engineering design, systems engineering, or model-based definition experience
• Advanced Creo proficiency with MBD annotation and GD&T per ASME Y14.5
• Strong Windchill proficiency including PLM, configuration management, and release workflows
• Familiarity with DFx principles including DFM and DFA
• Experience translating stakeholder needs into requirements and verification/validation
• Strong written and verbal communication across interdisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve MBD standards, processes, templates, and work instructions for parts, assemblies, and installations, aligned with ASME Y14.5 and Y14.41
• Translate engineering and downstream needs into clear authoring guidance for Creo and Windchill
• Improve machine-readability of product definitions and integrate MBD with PLM and model-based engineering environments
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Inspection, Supply Chain to define downstream needs and translate into design criteria
• Enhance producibility by conducting producibility assessments and participating in design reviews
• Provide training, documentation, quick-reference guides, and best practices for engineering tools and processes
• Coach engineers and designers, provide hands-on support and resolve complex authoring issues
• Represent MBD and DFx in engineering groups and communities of practice
• Explore AI-assisted engineering guidance and design-checking tools
