This role is part of Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE), supporting Blue Origin’s mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. The team fosters innovation and drives engineering workflows of the future, shared solutions and standards, simplicity and lower costs, and manufacturable design.Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! At Blue Origin, we are working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. We are a team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to the vision of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. This role sits on the Model Based Definition (MBD)& Design for Excellence (DFx) team within Advanced Concepts & Enterprise Engineering (ACE). Our team is seeking a Enterprise Model-Based Definition (MBD) and Design for Excellence (DFx) Engineer to help implement and scale MBD and DFx capabilities across the enterprise. Blue Origin is actively transitioning new design to model based definition with long term objective of fully model based engineering definition across the Enterprise. In this role, you will develop practical processes, standards, tools, and workflows that improve how engineering intent is captured in Creo and managed through Windchill. You will work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Inspection, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to ensure model-based product definitions are accurate, usable, and capable of supporting downstream automation. You will also help embed Design for Excellence principles—including manufacturability, assembly, inspection, and producibility—into engineering-definition practices so that issues can be identified earlier in the design process rather than discovered during production. This is a hands-on engineering and implementation role. The successful candidate will combine Creo, Windchill, GD&T, and MBD expertise with strong cross-functional collaboration, systems thinking, and the ability to help engineers adopt new ways of working. The role may also support the development of automated design checks, Creo customizations, and AI-enabled engineering assistants.
