Role Summary

Based at Fab9 in Essex Junction, VT, the Senior Factory Automation / Manufacturing Engineer will focus on automating wafer load/unload processes as part of the Fab9 transformational initiative. This role involves leading projects, supporting manufacturing initiatives, managing project plans, and collaborating across various teams to implement automation solutions.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and lead automation projects to prepare for mobile robot deployment in wafer load/unload processes.
2. Support other manufacturing engineering initiatives as needed.
3. Manage equipment and facilities project plans, schedules, and budgets.
4. Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Automation Engineering, Operations, Facilities, and OEMs.
5. Use CAD and simulation tools to design and validate automation solutions.
6. Conduct cost-benefit analyses and risk assessments to inform business decisions.
7. Ensure activities comply with safety and environmental standards.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years industry experience.
• Hands-on engineering skills and ability to understand complex systems.
• Experience leading technical projects in manufacturing.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing and process engineering.
• Knowledge of semiconductor processing and cleanroom fundamentals.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
• Experience with automation and robotics deployment.

Salary Range

$65,400 - $145,800, based on experience and location.
