Job summary

MP Materials in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the development, optimization, and integration of coating and finishing processes for high‑performance rare earth magnets. This role spans surface treatments, coatings, adhesives, plating, and thermal processes.

You will mentor engineers, drive pilot‑scale experiments, manage multiple development projects, and partner with EHS to ensure safety and regulatory compliance while advancing the company’s long‑term magnet technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience developing, optimizing, or scaling industrial materials and finishing processes.
• Experience designing and executing lab and pilot-scale experiments with data analysis.
• Proven track record leading complex technical projects from concept to scale-up.
• Experience supervising engineers and technical staff in R&D or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead experimental projects planning and execution for lab and pilot-scale chemical processes.
• Design experiments to optimize coatings, adhesion, plating, and surface treatments.
• Apply lab findings to scale-up toward production.
• Mentor engineers and foster continuous learning.
• Lead development projects and communicate findings.
• Collaborate with EHS to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
