Who We’re Looking For

Toyota’s Integrated Vehicle Systems (IVS) Department is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Automated Design System Senior Engineer. The ideal candidate will be an innovative, hands-on control systems engineer with a passion for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automotive technology. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager of IVS, this role supports the department's objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Design, implement, and optimize control algorithms using C/C++ for advanced ADAS features.
  • Calibrate and tune control systems through SIL, HIL, and in-vehicle testing to ensure real-world robustness.
  • Develop and maintain system and software requirements, specifications, and documentation for ADAS integration.
  • Propose and support development of new ADS and ADAS features with data-driven approaches.
  • Create simulation environments and automated testing tools for system validation.
  • Conduct vehicle testing, including driving prototype vehicles to validate system performance and safety.
  • Manage project timelines and collaborate with stakeholders, including international teams.
  • Identify customer needs and develop tailored ADAS features for North American markets.
  • Mentor junior engineers and improve development processes.
  • Operate prototype vehicles and present project updates to stakeholders.
What You Bring
Essential Education & Technical Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering or computer science fields.
  • Experience in control systems engineering, automotive safety standards, and embedded software development.
Additional Qualifications
  • Proven experience with automotive safety standards (ISO 26262), OEM vehicle development, and control software validation.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills, with experience working with Japanese automotive companies and Tier 1 suppliers.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Master’s/PhD degrees and experience in electronics hardware development, vehicle evaluation, and ADS technologies.
