Microchip Technology Inc. seeks a Principal Engineer - Software in Hauppauge, NY or Austin, TX, to develop and maintain Ethernet NIC drivers for USB- and PCIe-based devices. You’ll work across Linux, Windows, QNX, and RTOS platforms with hardware, firmware, and customer teams globally.

The role requires 10+ years in embedded software/driver development, strong C/C++, Python skills, and experience with ARM/x86, Ethernet/PCIe/USB, and OS internals. Travel 0–25% is expected.

Qualificações

Our teams are responsible for product definition, semiconductor design, software and driver development, reference systems, and technical customer support. This role is part of a global engineering organization with teams in the United States, Denmark, India, Taiwan, and China.Job Responsibilities:As a member of the software development team in Hauppauge, New York and in Austin, Texas, you will develop, integrate, and maintain Ethernet device drivers and supporting software for Microchip USB- and PCIe-based network interface devices.
