Job summary

American BOA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead process development, optimization, and simulation initiatives. The role focuses on hydroforming, DEFORM simulations, and implementing lean manufacturing practices while collaborating with design, tooling, and production teams.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in manufacturing engineering, proficiency in DEFORM, and strong knowledge of metal forming, CAD tools, ERP systems, and Six Sigma.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree required; master's preferred.
• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Proficiency in DEFORM for process simulation and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of metal forming, materials science, and structural behavior.
• Experience with CAD tools: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PTC Creo.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing analytics.
• Lean, Six Sigma, and process optimization expertise.
• Experience with hydraulic systems and equipment control.

Responsibilities

• Lead process design, improvement, and validation for products.
• Use DEFORM to simulate and optimize hydroforming processes.
• Collaborate with design, tooling and production for improvements.
• Develop and maintain process docs: flow charts, work instructions, control plans.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support APQP, PPAP, and other quality processes.
• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Analyze manufacturing data and perform MSA.
