Job summary

National Grid in Massachusetts is seeking a Lead Engineer for Gas Asset Management and Engineering to advance Future of Heat initiatives. You will lead NPAs assessment, collaborate with process owners, and help shape the IEP roadmap aligned with company goals.

The role focuses on developing non-pipeline alternatives, expanding digital tools, supporting decarbonization efforts, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders on optimization projects and regulatory filings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• Minimum 6 years' experience in an engineering or technical role.
• Experience with gas planning using Synergi or equivalent.
• Exposure to decarbonization technologies such as geothermal, RNG, or hydrogen projects.
• Experience in long/short term investment planning using risk-based gas asset management.
• Strong communication, writing, and computer skills; MS Office; data systems experience.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead identification of process enhancements to evaluate NPAs to gas investments.
• Assist with ongoing development of NPA and IEP software applications.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to implement NPA frameworks and IEP best practices.
• Support geothermal and electrification demonstration programs.
• Provide engineering support for decarbonization and regulatory efforts.
