Job description

Vision

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all. Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

Department Introduction

The Central Process Integration Engineering (cPIE) Loop Integration team drives process optimization, defect reduction, structural performance improvement, and technology integration across Micron's advanced DRAM and HBM manufacturing network. We are ready for the future! The team serves as the technical owner of critical process loops including FEOL, MOL, CAP, BEOL, Uniformity, and Backside Engineering, partnering closely with Process Engineering, Yield Engineering, RDA, Manufacturing, and Technology Development teams to accelerate yield learning and qualification readiness!

Position Overview

As a Senior Process Integration Engineer, you will own process loop performance across one or more critical semiconductor manufacturing modules. You will identify process interactions, drive yield improvement, characterize failure mechanisms, and enable successful deployment of new technologies from development through high-volume manufacturing. This role provides opportunities to influence process architecture, conversion strategies, inline monitoring systems, and technology ramp execution while collaborating with global engineering teams across multiple sites. In support of Micron's AI transformation, you will be expected to harness Artificial Intelligence tools and advanced analytics to improve engineering productivity, accelerate problem solving, and enhance process understanding.

Responsibilities
  • Drive process loop performance and structural optimization for assigned modules, including CAP, BBE, Uniformity, or emerging technology loops.
  • Analyze process interactions and integration impacts across multiple process areas to improve yield, quality, reliability, and manufacturing capability.
  • Lead root cause investigations using inline, electrical, defect, and physical analysis data to identify and eliminate key yield detractors.
  • Establish baseline performance and continuously improve process capability through characterization, optimization, and conversion activities.
  • Develop process integration solutions that accelerate technology ramp and improve yield performance.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineers, Yield Engineers, RDA, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve complex integration challenges.
  • Support NPI transfers and qualification activities through risk identification, process interaction assessments, and PITD documentation.
  • Define loop health indicators, monitoring plans, and scorecards to improve process visibility and proactive risk management.
  • Develop and deploy Best Known Methods (BKMs), business processes, and technical standards across manufacturing sites.
  • Apply advanced analytics, automation, and AI tools to improve process understanding, engineering efficiency, and decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • 5+ years of experience in one of the following areas: semiconductor process integration, process engineering, or technology development.
  • 5+ years of experience working with one of the following semiconductor manufacturing areas: yield improvement, defect reduction, failure analysis, or process optimization.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing engineering, manufacturing, or process datasets and translating findings into technical solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience collaborating with multi-functional engineering, manufacturing, quality, or technology development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • 7+ years of experience in semiconductor process integration supporting advanced technology development or high-volume manufacturing.
  • 7+ years of experience leading yield improvement initiatives, process conversions, or technology ramp activities.
  • Experience using Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, or automation tools to improve engineering productivity and process performance.
  • Experience developing monitoring strategies, process control methodologies, BKMs, or technical standards across multiple manufacturing sites.
