We are seeking a Senior Engineer Energy – Remote. This remote position is based out of our Oak Ridge, TN office.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Specifies technical and quality requirements to support acceptance of materials and services that support nuclear plant operations.
  • Exercises independent judgement and decision-making in planning, organizing, and conducting work assignments.
  • Instructions and guidance may be received on unusual or complex problems, and the candidate should know when to get others involved.
  • Effectively utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered in work assignments while identifying and eliminating unnecessary work and non-value-added activities.
  • Develops technical and quality assurance specifications in support of purchasing nuclear plant materials and services, derived from a detailed knowledge of plant system design and programmatic requirements.
  • May support the development of commercial grade dedication plans for acceptance testing and inspection of commercial grade products in accordance with applicable codes.
  • Performs evaluations of alternate replacement items to meet system and component design basis requirements.
  • Serves as the Technical Specialist in support of quality assurance audits and surveys at vendor's facilities in support of product manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with nuclear quality assurance requirements and industry standards.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

What will you contribute?

  • Requires a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Requires 10+ years of engineering experience.
  • Possess license P.E.
  • Candidate will proficiently perform assignments having the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience needed to carry out all aspects of the job.
  • Must be able to travel to project site to attend business meetings as required by the project.
  • Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles.
  • Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices.
  • Knowledge of various computer applications, with the ability to manipulate data and personal computer applications to arrive at informed technical decisions (MS Office, etc.).
  • Equally effective working independently or in a team environment.
  • Proven decision-making skills.
  • Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dedication to achieving milestones.
  • Positive, optimistic, team player and solution-oriented attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand a wide variety of topics and be sufficiently intrusive to ensure all work items under their area of responsibility are produced with the highest quality including technical accuracy.
  • Demonstrate high integrity, safety, professionalism, and appropriate behavior driven results.
  • Be a strong advocate to communicate and elevate issues in a timely manner.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.
