THE TEAM

The Core Data Services team is at the center of Data and Analytics initiatives. We are building a modern data platform to support enterprise data needs. Our mission is to empower our data community—data engineers, data scientists, analysts, product teams, and decision-makers—to create value.

The team consists of Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Enablement, and Operations. We are building a high-performance, modern enterprise Data Lake while supporting current data platforms, focusing on maximizing functionality, creating valuable data assets, optimizing costs, and enhancing usability of data delivery and services. We are seeking a Data Engineer - Platform, You!

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

This is a hands-on Data Platform Infrastructure role that requires strong infrastructure and deployment automation skills to design, develop, deploy, and maintain testable, secure platforms and infrastructure that are user-friendly and efficient.

The platform will provide:

• The foundations of all critical software
• Security products for data platform building
• Tools for product teams to own their software delivery robustly and at scale
• Participation in on-call rotations/PagerDuty for platform support

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING:

• Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Solid knowledge of cloud architecture principles for Big Data platforms
• Experience across all phases of the software and system development lifecycle and agile methodologies
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go) for production software and automation
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other containerization, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
• Experience with runtime orchestration such as serverless, container orchestration, batch, and real-time event orchestration
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins, Tekton, and deploying using strategies like canary or blue-green deployments
• Familiarity with agile development tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stay updated with the latest data engineering trends

Compensation

The expected salary range is $136,000 - $170,000 USD, based on market location, qualifications, skills, and experience. Pay is commensurate with these factors.
