THE TEAM

The Core Data Services team is at the center of Data and Analytics initiatives. We are building a modern data platform to support enterprise data needs. Our mission is to empower and enable our data community—including data engineers, data scientists, analysts, product teams, and decision-makers—to create value.

The team consists of Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Enablement, and Operations teams. We are building a highly functional, performant modern enterprise Data Lake while supporting current data platforms. Our focus is on maximizing functionality, creating valuable content/data assets, optimizing costs, and ensuring usability of data delivery and services. Our success is measured by these outcomes. We are seeking a Data Engineer - Platform, You!

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

This is a hands-on Data Platform Infrastructure role that requires strong infrastructure and deployment automation skills to design, develop, deploy, and maintain testable, secure platforms and infrastructure that are easy and efficient to use.

The platform will provide:

• The foundations of all critical software
• Security products for building the data platform
• Empowerment for product teams to take ownership of software delivery at scale
• Participation in on-call rotations/PagerDuty for platform support

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING:

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Solid knowledge of cloud architecture principles for Big Data platforms
• Experience with all phases of the software and system development lifecycle and agile methodologies
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Go for production software and automation
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other containerization, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
• Experience with runtime orchestrations, including serverless, container orchestration, batch, and real-time event orchestration
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins, Tekton, and deploying software and data architectures using strategies like canary or blue-green deployments
• Familiarity with agile development tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stay current with data engineering trends

Compensation

The expected salary range is $136,000 - $170,000 USD. Pay is commensurate with market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
