Job summary

Jobtailor in New Jersey is seeking an experienced data scientist to partner with cross-functional teams to build AI-driven solutions for network optimization. You will develop and deploy ML models that reduce costs and enhance customer experience, while validating data quality and delivering actionable insights.

Strong expertise in Python, Spark, and SQL is required, with a track record of production-ready ML solutions. Experience with Teradata, Hadoop, NoSQL, or related tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Python, Spark, and SQL.
• Ability to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets using AI/ML techniques.
• Experience developing and deploying machine learning models to production.
• Experience with scoring models and anomaly detection is preferable.
• Network domain experience or strong willingness to learn the network domain.
• Master's degree in a technical/financial discipline preferred.

Job description

• Partner with Network Planning, Engineering, and Operations teams to create an Artificial Intelligence roadmap
• Work with data scientists, big data engineers, and software developers to implement and deliver use cases
• Steer applied analytics and create models that drive network cost efficiency, customer experience improvements, network performance optimization, and operational efficiency
• Mine data, extract usable insights, and validate data quality
• Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods
• Identify OKRs and KPIs to continuously test and measure the economic impact of production models
• Partner with the business to align organizational strategy with wider business unit strategic goals
• Collaborate across business partners, EA, and TCC to build predictive and prescriptive models for network-domain problems
• Integrate models with business processes to drive value
• Present results and recommendations to senior management and business users

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience
• Four or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience
• Expertise in Python, Spark, and SQL
• Ability to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets using AI/ML techniques
• Experience developing and deploying machine learning models to production
• Experience with developing scoring models and anomaly detection solutions is preferable
• Experience in the network domain or a learning mindset to go deeper into the network domain
• Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, analytics, engineering, computer science, or another technical and/or financial discipline is preferred
• Experience with large data sets for product and process optimization
• Knowledge of data warehouse and data lake technologies, including Teradata, Hadoop, NoSQL, and graph databases
• Knowledge and experience applying AI/ML or analytical models, including NumPy, Scikit-Learn, Dataproc, Jupyter Notebook, Facebook Prophet, XGBoost, regressions, and classification
• Network expertise, including understanding of 4G/5G technologies, IP networking, and RF/SP engineering tools and principles
• Technical knowledge of improving network system performance, capacity, reliability, and scalability
