Job summary

Target is seeking a Senior Engineer, Responsible Materials – Animal Welfare to lead the technical direction of animal welfare across Owned Brand supply chains. You will establish standards, roadmaps and approval criteria, focusing on farm animal welfare across poultry, cattle and other species, while balancing business needs and animal well-being.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience in animal welfare, agricultural production, responsible sourcing, or veterinary science.
• Deep knowledge of animal welfare science and commercial livestock production systems.
• Familiarity with welfare standards, certification programs and assurance models.
• Ability to balance welfare objectives with supply availability and product quality.

Responsibilities

• Establish technical standards, policies and sourcing requirements based on scientific evidence.
• Assess credibility of data, data gaps and assurance evidence across supply chains.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement program roadmaps and governance.
• Lead issues response and provide technical positions during investigations or escalations.
