Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking an experienced Animal Welfare and Biosecurity Superintendent to lead welfare, biosecurity, audits, training, and continuous improvement across processing and live operations.

You will serve as SME for animal welfare, manage corrective actions, support customer and regulatory audits, maintain records, and drive a culture of accountability while partnering with facilities and maintenance to ensure compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2–5 years in poultry production, live operations, animal welfare, QA, or related fields.
• PAACO Certification or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with animal welfare and biosecurity policies.
• Liaise with Plant, Production, and Hatchery teams to drive welfare culture.
• Conduct welfare/biosecurity observations, inspections and audits.
• Ensure humane handling during live receiving, hanging, and harvest.
• Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective actions.
