Job summary

Target is hiring a Sr Engineer for Agentic Data Platforms to help design and build software for Agent Fetch and the enterprise agentic analytics layer. You will work across orchestration, data access, semantics, observability, and security to deliver scalable analytics capabilities.

The role requires 4-year quantitative degree, 3+ years of software experience, and strong Python/Java skills with a bias toward AI agents and LLM-based tooling. Hybrid work arrangement in MN applies.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Quantitative disciplines or equivalent industry experience
• 3+ years of software design, development, testing, and support
• Proficiency in Python or Java and willingness to learn more languages/frameworks
• Experience with AI agents, LLMs, tool use, planning, or multi-step agent workflows
• Knowledge of retrieval, context management, and tool interfaces
• Experience with data platforms, governance, and semantic models
• Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software and platform capabilities behind Agent Fetch and the agentic data platform
• Collaborate across agent orchestration, data access, semantics, observability, and security
• Contribute to scalable, secure, data-driven analytics for enterprise use
• Participate in evaluating and improving production systems and monitoring
