Job summary

Huntress is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Agentic SOC team. You will build core components of an AI-assisted security system that investigates signals across customer environments, balancing automation with expert oversight.

You’ll collaborate with SOC analysts, researchers, and product managers to deliver end-to-end features, emphasizing production-ready, observable code and responsible AI usage.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building applications with LLMs, tool usage, and evaluation.
• Understanding of how LLM-based systems fail and testing habits.
• Solid backend fundamentals: APIs, queues, concurrency, data stores.
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails; willingness to learn it.
• Security awareness and data isolation between customers.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Experience with AI coding tools and premise for production-grade code.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship core parts of the Agentic SOC system end-to-end.
• Translate analyst workflows into agent behaviors and outputs.
• Create LLM-powered features that preprocess tool outputs for analysts.
• Develop evaluations to measure system quality with evidence.
• Design production-grade, observable, cost-conscious code.
• Collaborate with leads, SOC analysts, researchers, and product managers.
• Review code and share learnings about LLM-based development.
• Balance rapid prototyping with careful, low-risk implementation.
