Job summary

Optimum is seeking a Senior SOC Engineer (AI & Automation) to design, build, and operate the AI, automation, and detection-engineering capabilities powering our Security Operations Center. You’ll bridge security operations and software engineering, developing AI-driven detection, triage, and response tooling, and ensuring accuracy and safety across analyst workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
• 7+ years of combined experience across security operations, incident response, and software engineering.
• Hands-on incident response and digital forensics experience; leading major incidents preferred.
• Strong programming skills (e.g., Python) and software‑engineering practices (CI/CD, testing).
• Hands-on AI/ML experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG/agentic frameworks.
• Experience with SOAR/automation and detection engineering (detection-as-code).
• Data engineering skills with large security datasets, APIs, and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AI/ML- and automation-driven capabilities for alert enrichment, correlation, triage, and prioritization.
• Develop and maintain SOAR automations and detection-as-code pipelines that are version-controlled and tested.
• Integrate LLM and agentic AI tooling into SOC workflows; engineer prompts, guardrails, and evaluation harnesses.
• Evaluate and tune AI models for security use cases; measure precision, recall, and MTTR impact.
• Build data pipelines from security telemetry to support ML-enabled detections and models.
• Lead investigations and incident response during major incidents; provide hands-on support across on-prem and cloud.
