You will own trim systems from concept to launch, balancing styling, function, and manufacturability, with CAD-driven design and data-informed decisions.

The position requires 5+ years of exterior trim design experience, CATIA V5/V6 proficiency, and knowledge of Class A surfaces and paint matching.

Senior Exterior Trim Engineer - Electric Vehicle Manufacturing (Phoenix, AZ)

Advantage Technical is partnering with a leading electric vehicle manufacturer in Phoenix, AZ to hire a Senior Exterior Trim Engineer. This temporary role offers hands‑on ownership of trim systems on next‑generation EV platforms, blending styling, function, and manufacturability.

Pay: $45.00-$52.00/hr

Position Type: Temporary

Schedule: Regular business hours

What You'll Do (Job Duties)

Lead design, packaging, and release of exterior systems, including side valences, sill trims, underbody aero shields, wheelhouse liners, spoilers, appliques, frunk/froot, and rocker panels. Develop these systems with a focus on quality, reliability, mass, and cost efficiency. Collaborate cross‑functionally with studio and vehicle engineering teams. Support the full vehicle life cycle from concept through launch. Go beyond CAD execution to drive quick design modifications and data-informed decisions.

What You Bring (Requirements and Qualifications)

• 5+ years of exterior trim design experience across the systems listed above.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 or V6 for complex CAD modeling.
• Experience with thermoplastic/thermoset resins and Class A manufacturing, including paint.
• Full vehicle launch experience and supplier base knowledge (e.g., Magna, Rivian).
• Experience designing plastic parts, interior or exterior.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

• Experience with Class A surfaces, front crash, aero features, lighting integration, module integration, tooling, gap/flush, thermal expansion, structural design, and paint matching.
