Job summary

Senior Controls Engineer

Location: Secaucus, NJ

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems.
  • Lead automation projects through all phases of execution.
  • Develop functional specifications, control narratives, and technical documentation.
  • Perform system integration, testing, FATs, SATs, and commissioning activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex automation and process control systems.
  • Work directly with customers to understand requirements and provide technical guidance.
  • Review electrical drawings and control system designs.
  • Mentor and support junior engineering staff.
  • Provide ongoing support for installed automation systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, or related field.
  • 5+ years of industrial automation experience.
  • Strong PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Emerson/GE, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with SCADA and HMI development.
  • Strong understanding of industrial networking and communication protocols.
  • Experience leading projects and interacting directly with customers.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as required.

  • Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and FactoryTalk View SE
  • Emerson/GE RX3i and Cimplicity
  • Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC
  • Ignition SCADA
  • MES integration experience
  • Process manufacturing environments (chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, flavor and fragrance)
